Coffee with an Architect
At hARCHITECTstudio, we believe great design starts with meaningful conversations. We also understand that embarking on a building project can feel overwhelming, leaving many unsure of where to begin or how to approach a design professional. That’s why I’m hosting Coffee with an Architect—a friendly space to discuss your ideas, ask questions, and explore architectural possibilities in a relaxed setting.
Every Saturday morning from 10am to 12noon, I’ll be at the lovely Victoria Sponge Café, Monikie DD5 3QA ready to talk about your vision. To ensure we can give each persona and project the attention it deserves, we kindly ask that you book an appointment in advance.
Whether you’re planning a new project, exploring sustainable design, or simply curious about the process, I would like to offer some simple bullet points on how to get the best out of our session and the make the most of our time together.
Site plan, Building plans, drawings, photos - Please bring any supporting information you have that will give me insight to the project and understand the issues. I will have my laptop to hand and can visit google street - but this does have its limitations.
Sketches, ideas, inspiration, - This could include sample images or a moodboard. Understanding your vision and expectations helps me advise on the best solutions for your project.
Be open - Share your vision and the challenges you’re facing. Honest conversations lead to better outcomes. Furthermore being open to alternative solutions can be key—for instance, you may think you need an extension but discover that reimagining your current space is a better fit
Questions - please bring questions that you would like to ask. It is easy to forget in the moment and you leave without asking that pressing query you’ve had.
Taking Notes - During our session, I’ll likely make notes and sketches to clarify ideas. While I’ll share these with you afterward, making your own notes ensures nothing gets overlooked.
Schedule ahead - These are intend one-on-one sessions and not as groups. This allow us to focus on your specific project and provide tailored advice. Booking in advance ensures we have ample time for your needs. Please note that arriving without a booking may lead to delays or disappointment.
I am looking forward to the Saturday morning session and to share with the wider community my experience and expertise. Whether you're seeking advice or simply exploring ideas, I’m here to help you navigate the possibilities. Appointments can be booked via the details below.
I look forward to meeting you!
